The explosion of electronic information is driving organizations to seek out technology tools to help them regain control and better manage it in order to improve efficiencies and compliance. An enterprise content management (ECM) system is a suite of product components that are capable of managing all of the unstructured information within an organization for their entire lifecycle. Unstructured information exists in many electronic forms including: word processing documents, spreadsheets, images, email, and many other file types and formats.
