Position Title: Summer Student, Records and Archives
Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Type: Temporary, Full-Time (April 30 to August 31, 2018)
Description: The Summer Student, Records and Archives works with the Supervisor, Library and Records Management in supporting the Records and Information Management (RIM) program with the routine annual records disposition process, providing archival services and participating in various RIM initiatives. The student will have the opportunity to contribute to the annual review of hardcopy files meeting retention, updating digital media archives inventories and participating in a variety of RIM projects enhancing the management of electronic information collections.
Requirements: Candidates should meet the following requirements: completion of high school diploma and enrolled in a post-secondary school program; studying in a field related to records management, library or archives is considered an asset; Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; computer literacy (Excel, databases, etc.); ability to handle repetitive tasks; ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 30 pounds; ability to work independently or in a team; excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
The successful candidate should also be able to deliver quality work on time, be a positive team member, and learn new software tools quickly.
