About the session:

The ARMA NCR board holds an annual general meeting, open to all members, for the purpose of presenting annual reports and for the transaction of other business related to Chapter affairs. 

The information session portion will be in the format of a panel discussion surrounding IM in the time of a global pandemic.  

About the Panelists: 

Jennifer Woods, Director, Government Recordkeeping Initiatives Division, LAC

Jennifer Woods is a proud information professional and public servant, currently the Director of the Government Records Initiatives Division (GRID) at Library and Archives of Canada (LAC).  Her career of over twenty-five years includes roles such as the Director of the GC-wide GCdocs Program at Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), and Manager of the Information Management Programs, including electronic document and records management solutions, for the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OFSI) and the Privy Council Office (PCO).  She holds a Master in Information Management (MIM) from Dalhousie University and has contributed to the local IM professionals’ association, ARMA NCR, as a board member and President for many years.

Joel Martin, Chief, Enterprise Information Management Services, TBS

Joel Martin, B.Eng., M.A.Sc. Biomedical Engineering, joined the Federal Public Service in the IM/IT field in 2010. He has since worked in various capacities at TBS and Health Canada. At Health Canada, Joel was the Director responsible for IM in the Healthy Environments and Consumer Safety Branch (which included the Tobacco Control Directorate). Joel is now the Chief of Enterprise Information Management for TBS where he led the successful migration of GCDocs to an MS Azure cloud environment hosting CS16 and is now leading the departmental implementation of M365.

Ross Gordon, Public Servant in Residence, uOttawa (previously Director of IM at ECCC)

Ross Gordon, MA MLIS, has worked in IM for almost 3 decades beginning as Librarian at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal and then moving to the Library of Parliament, Library and Archives Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and finally as Director of IM at Environment and Climate Change Canada.  He is finishing a Public Servant in Residence Interchange at the University of Ottawa School of Information Studies where he is a visiting professor. 

Brian Chidester, OpenText

Brian Chidester is the Principal Industry Strategist for Public Sector at OpenText and the host of "The Government Huddle with Brian Chidester" podcast from Government Marketing University. He is responsible for growing OpenText’s Public Sector practice while also ensuring the success of our public sector customers. Formerly, Brian served as the Industry Marketing Lead for Public Sector at Appian. He also has held product-marketing roles with Monster Worldwide, Arrow ECS and IHS Markit, where he was awarded Best in Show - Lead Generation at the 2014 MarketingSherpa Email Awards. Mr. Chidester holds a B.S. in Communications Studies from Liberty University.
